Kenneth Rodney Felt

1943 – 2014

Kenneth Rodney Felt, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, returned home peacefully to his Heavenly Father on May 23, 2014 surrounded by his loving family.

He was born in Salt Lake City, Utah on August 18, 1943 to Rodney White Felt and Ruby Snelson.  Reared in Kaysville, he participated in baseball and track & field.  Ken was a graduate of Davis High School and attended Weber State University.

On September 17, 1965, Ken married his sweetheart, Reta Lynn Parker, in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.  Residing in Fruit Heights, they shared 49 years of sweet and enduring love for each other.

Ken provided service to his community through the Kaysville Jaycees and the LDS Church, where he served as a high priest.

After 37 years of civil service, Ken retired from Hill Air Force Base in 2000.  He was a hard-worker and wonderful provider.

Ken’s favorite place was his little Bear Lake paradise.  He worked diligently to make it enjoyable for gatherings of family and friends.

Ken loved baseball, BYU football, Irish Setters, and the outdoors.  On weekends, he loved a good yard sale and reading the newspaper.  He had a quick wit and a fun sense of humor.

Thanks to his loving wife’s care and Ken’s resolve, he lived a fulfilling life for 14 years after his debilitating stroke.

We will miss his beautiful blue eyes, contagious smile, and sweet spirit.  We love you and look forward to a great reunion.

Ken is survived by his wife, Reta; daughter Angela (Clint) Mann; son, Tyler; 3 grandchildren, Carson, Emma, and Gabriel; mother, Ruby; brothers, Larry (Jackie), Merrill (Paula), Jeffrey (Tina), Brett (Kayla); sisters, Judy (Gary) Rigby, Annalisa (Kirk) Smith.  Preceding him in death are his son, Bradley and father, Rodney.

Funeral services will be held Friday, May 30, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Fruit Heights Stake Center, 170 N. Mountain Rd, Fruit Heights, UT.  Friends may visit with the family Thursday, May 29, 2014 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Lindquist's Kaysville Mortuary, 400 N. Main St, Kaysville, and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.  Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
