Kenneth W. Flint

February 8, 1935- May 7, 2014

LAYTON- Kenneth W. Flint, 79, passed away on Wednesday May 7, 2014 of natural causes. He was born to wonderful parents, Wilford W Flint and Elda Jones on February 8, 1935 in Ogden Utah. He was the oldest of 4 sons raised on the homestead farm in West Point, Utah.  His childhood was filled with wonderful memories of working the farm where he gained a firm work ethic and a deep love of family.

He attended schools in Davis County and was a proud graduate of Davis High School class of 1954 where he was an All-State catcher for the baseball team. Through the years, he remained a loyal Dart, frequenting Davis High sporting events. He proudly wore his “D” hat every day.

After High School he attended Weber State College, then on May 27, 1955 he sealed to his High School sweetheart Jill Gillies in the Salt Lake Temple. He was employed at the Clearfield Post Office, The Marquardt Corp., and worked as a Real Estate Broker before finding his passion for home building where he spent the next 40+ years working as a General Contractor. He served as president of the Weber Basin Homebuilders Association and as director of the National Association of Homebuilders.

He was a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had a strong testimony of the Savior. He served faithfully in many callings and was especially fond of the time he served as Bishop of the West Point Second Ward.

Grandchildren have great memories of his love and support in all their activities and always felt like he was their number one fan.

Ken is survived by his wife of 59 years, Jill; children, Steven (Linda) Flint, Laurie (Rulon) Gardner, Kirk Flint, Christopher Flint; grandchildren, Trevor (Jodi), Skyler (Melanie), Chase (Hayley), Zachary, Rachel (Brock), Blake, Annie, Jacob, Jack, Chandler, Sarah, Cydney; great grandchildren, Kaylie, Gavin, Crosby, Haden, Stella, Cora; Brother, Keith (Maureen); Sister-in-Law, Joyce Flint.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Ron and Kevin.
