Kenneth L. Gomm
LAYTON a" Kenneth Lester Gomm, 74, died Tuesday, May 18, 2010 at McKay-Dee Hospital.
He was born August 16, 1935 in Kanesville, a son of Lester Edward and Mildred Tippets Gomm. He graduated from Weber High School Class of 1953. He later attended Brigham Young University where he played football and graduated in 1958 with a Bachelors Degree in mechanical engineering.
On August 27, 1954, Ken married Dorothy Louise Applonie in the Salt Lake LDS Temple.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He served as Scoutmaster, Ward Executive Secretary and in many other callings.
He owned and operated a Chevrolet Auto Dealership in Heber City, Utah. He retired from Hill Air Force Base following many years of service as a mechanical engineer.
Ken was an avid hunter and a great outdoorsman. He loved to play softball. He was a member of the B.Y.U. Cougar Club. Most of all, he was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with his family.
Surviving are his wife, Dorothy, Layton; three sons and four daughters, Connie (Wesley) Long, Kent William Gomm, Debbie Gomm, Curtis Lee (Janette) Gomm, Deanne Gomm, Cordell Kay (Lynette) Gomm, Teresa (Bret) Cutler, 21 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
Preceding Ken in death were his parents and one granddaughter, Heather Long.
Funeral services will be held Monday, May 24 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Family will meet friends at the mortuary on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
