Kenneth W. Hampson
Our sweet, loving father returned home to his Heavenly Father and his beloved wife Carole, on Tuesday, June 22, 2010.
He was born March 13, 1928 in Ogden, to Ensil and Cleo Jones Hampson. Ken lived in South Ogden most of his life and in later years lived in Washington Terrace and most recently in Morgan.
Ken graduated from Ogden High School where he met and fell in love with his wife Carole. They were married August 20, 1948 and later sealed in the Ogden LDS Temple. Their union brought four children, seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Carole passed away August 22, 2008. They had just celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary.
Ken was a valued friend and a dedicated, loving family man who enjoyed every minute with his family whether it was a camping trip, a vacation, a Sunday dinner or a simple leisurely chat.
He loved to golf, bowl and ski, and was a member of the Mt. Ogden Ski Club for many years.
Ken was best known as a professional photographer and captured many memorable and special moments in the lives of countless people who entrusted him to do so. He owned and operated Alpine Camera Shop for many years.
Ken was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and had a strong testimony of faith and eternal life.
Ken is survived by his children: Craig (Linda) Hampson, Roy; Keith Hampson, Peterson; Cris (Gloria Jean) Hampson, Pleasant View; Carrie Hampson Gresham, Ogden; seven grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are one sister Irene Butler, brother-in-law Eugene Bateman, sister-in-law Rosie Zito Hampson and one additional "son" he took under his wing, Michael (Sherron) Close, North Carolina.
