Kenneth M. Hanni
SOUTH OGDEN a" Kenneth Max Hanni, peacefully passed away Monday, December 13, 2010 at his home at the age of 86.
He was born March 16, 1924 in Sugar City, Idaho, the son of Walter and Martha Hanni.
Ken married his high school sweetheart, Margaret Udy, on September 4, 1944 in Clovis, New Mexico. Their vows were later solemnized in the Logan LDS Temple. He was married to Margaret for 66 years.
After graduating from Bear River High School, he served with the U.S. Army Air Corp during World War II. He then attended Utah State University where he received his Bachelor''s and Master''s Degrees in Education.
Ken taught school in White Pine Country, Nevada for two years and in the Ogden City School District for 36 years.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints South Ogden 3rd Ward. He served in many callings including Ward Clerk, Ogden Temple Baptistery, two Stake Missions and in the Nashville, Tennessee Mission with his wife. He was also a dedicated Home Teacher.
Ken enjoyed hunting and fishing with his boys and friends. He was also an avid sports fan and an excellent gardener. He enjoyed spending time with his family at his cabin, which he and his sons built at Timber Lakes near Heber City, Utah.
He will be dearly missed by his wife Margaret, his children, Wayne (Annette) Hanni, Layton; Craig (Pam) Hanni, Ogden; Brenda (Perry) Madson, Layton; Kirk (Becky) Hanni, Clearfield; as well as his 18 grandchildren, 28 great-grandchildren, his sister, Geraldine Rhodes, Perry, UT; and many nieces, nephews and friends.
Preceding Ken in death were his parents and three sisters, Mildred Evans, Adele Hancock and Helen Rowland.
His family would like to express their sincere gratitude to the team at Access Home Care and Hospice for their loving care and kind service to their father throughout the past few years.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 17 at 11 a.m. at the South Ogden 3rd Ward Chapel, 4075 Orchard Avenue.
Family will meet with friends at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Thursday, December 16 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday at the Ward Chapel 9:30 to 10:30 a.m.
Interment, Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 Highland Dr., Salt Lake City, UT, where Military Honors will be accorded.
