Kenneth Clarke Hodgman
BRIGHAM CITY a" Kenneth Clarke Hodgman (Ken), gentleman, family leader and lifelong learner, peacefully passed away Friday, April 8, 2011 at the age of 87. He was beloved by all and will be dearly missed.
Ken was born June 7, 1923 in Ogden, Utah to William Bruce and Selina Clarke Hodgman. He later met his soul mate, Muriel Cossette Hodgman. Married on February 14, 1949 at St. Joseph''s Catholic Church in Ogden, the happy couple was devoted to one another for 62 yearsa"a true testament of love and dedication.
An accomplished fly fisherman and golfer, Ken was talented and loved teaching his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Traveling and camping were among the many joys in his life.
Ken served his country during World War II in the Pacific Theater as an Army Staff Sergeant of the Fighting Irish Battalion. He was well known for his creativity and ingenuity, and worked at Hill Air Force Base as a civil servant for 33 years. Forging new paths, teaching those around him, and guiding his family were among his passions.
Ken was greeted in heaven by his parents and all of his siblings: Adelaide (Staley), Bernice (Bagby), Bruce, Jack, Wesley, and Charles. His surviving family will wait patiently to meet him again, including his wife Muriel Cossette Hodgman; children: Toni (Rod) Wardle and John (Vicki) Hodgman; seven grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and, eleven step-great-grandchildren.
A viewing will be held at St. Joseph''s Catholic Church in Ogden on Monday, April 11, 2011 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. followed by a funeral mass to be held from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. Ken will be laid to rest at Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd., Ogden immediately following the funeral mass.

The family offers its sincere appreciation to the caring and compassionate staff of Willow Glen Care and Rehabilitation. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to Meals on Wheels.
