Kenneth (Kenny) Lee Johnson passed away on Friday, December 27, 2024 at his home in Sunset, UT from Lewy Body Dementia.
Kenny was born on February 10, 1949 in Ogden, Utah, to Carlos and Elaine Johnson. He grew up in Roy, Utah, playing in the sand hills and catching lizards where Roy High School currently stands. He graduated from Bonneville High School in 1968. He married Jolene Petersen just prior to leaving for the Vietnam War in 1969-70. He served in Thailand as a medic, assisting wounded soldiers. Later, he and Jolene were sealed for time and eternity in the Ogden, Utah temple. They made their home in Hooper, Utah. Jolene passed away in 2003.
In 2005, he met his sweetheart and companion, Nancy Moore, and moved to Sunset, Utah, to be near her. He loved Nancy dearly. She has cared for him tenderly through this final illness. By the end, Kenny wasn’t aware of much, but he knew if Nancy had left the room.
Although Kenny didn’t have children of his own, he loved his nieces and nephews. He and Jolene made many beautiful, handmade gifts for them. Kenny had a tender, loving heart and an immense soft spot for dogs and cats. You would often find him with a dog or a cat on his lap. Sometimes both.
Kenny is survived by his sweetheart, Nancy, his brother, Grant (Norene) Johnson of Kaysville, Utah, his sister, Colleen (James) Arrington of Saratoga Springs, Utah. Nieces and nephews: Kristine, Kimberly, Kira, Stephanie, Douglas, Mike, and Matt. He is preceded in death by his parents, and wife.
