Kenneth Ned Nebeker

Ned hit his final homerun on March 8, 2008.

He was born July 12, 1924 in Tremonton, Utah and raised in Willard along with his four brothers and two sisters.

Ned played Minor League baseball for the Brigham City Peaches and was recruited to play for the New York Giants before he was drafted into the Army. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and was stationed in the Philippines.

He married Jeneel Vause on June 6, 1949, celebrating 51 A½ years of marriage until her passing in 2001.

Ned worked for Anderson Lumber Co. for 20 some years before he went to work for Moyes Glass Co. until his retirement in 1985.

He loved the game of baseball and coached Little League baseball in North Ogden for many years. He was always involved in clubs and functions having to do with his children including helping out with the North Ogden Junior Posse. "Bumps" is survived by his daughter, Kary (Mike) Chastain, his son, Nard (JoAnn) Nebeker, two grandsons, Andy Chastain and Cortland Nebeker, and his favorite granddaughter, Kylie Nebeker, one brother, E. Ross (Lucille) Nebeker, and two sisters Nola (Grant) Young, and Mary Lou Rhees, and all his nieces and nephews.

The family would like to thank all of Ned''s friends and neighbors for their care and kindness, as well as Mikel and Janis Vause and family, for keeping Ned involved in their children''s and grandchildren''s lives and activities. We would also like to thank Granny''s "Live-in" Nanny''s and his friends and caretakers at Pineview Rehabilitation and Brigham Nursing and Rehabilitation.

As per Ned''s wishes, there will be a graveside service on Wednesday, March 12th at 11:00 a.m. at Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
