Kenneth L. Norris
PLEASANT VIEW a" Kenneth Landsmer Norris passed away Tuesday, December 28, 2010 at McKay-Dee Hospital with his family by his side, from complications of pneumonia.
Ken was born January 5, 1933 in Ogden, the son of Thomas Landsmer and Vernetta Donaldson Norris. He graduated from Ogden High School in 1951.
He met his sweetheart, Arleen Butters, and they were married on July 11, 1952 in the Logan LDS Temple. They were blessed with four daughters.
Ken graduated from Weber State College. He worked for the State of Utah in both the Utah Drivers License division and as an adult probation and parole officer.
He was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He held numerous callings including the Bishopric, High Councilman, Stake Young Men''s Presidency, and Elders Quorum and High Priest Group leaderships. Most recently, he was serving in the Nursery with his wife.
Ken was an excellent marksman and enjoyed competitive pistol shooting. He also enjoyed reading church books.
Surviving are his wife of 58 years of marriage, Arleen, Pleasant View; four daughters, Marsi (Calvin) McCrary, Washington Terrace; Linda (Allan) Dalpias, North Ogden; Lori (Ray) Holbrook, Plain City; Deann (Curtis) Kennedy, Farr West; 15 grandchildren and 20 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are his brother, William "Bill" D. (Marcia) Norris and his sister, Geneal (Paul) Gilmore.
Preceding Ken in death were his parents.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at the Pleasant View 9th Ward Chapel, 250 W. Elberta Dr.
Family will meet with friends at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday at the Ward Chapel 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
