SYRACUSE a€" Kenneth L. Patchin, 79, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2009 at Avalon Care Center.

He was born July 9, 1929 in Dewey, Oklahoma the son of Roy and Agnes Rountree Patchin.

Kenneth married Donita Garrison in Norman, Oklahoma.

Kenneth served in the U.S. Air Force and Civil Service with the Military Air Lift Command. He had a love of Air Force History and wrote several historical books.

He loved writing children''s books as well as main stream novels. He was a consultant for the book (Flight to Israel).

Surviving are his wife Donita, Bountiful; two sons, Bart (Claudia), Syracuse; Brett (Shari), Plainfield, ILL; five grandchildren, Tyler, Brett, Megan, Danny and Kyle, two sisters, Thelma and Vivian.

Preceded in death by his parents and infant son, Randy.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, January 13, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Monday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Syracuse City Cemetery.
