Kenneth Frank Rankin
1943-2015
Kenneth Frank Rankin, 72, passed away peacefully on November 18, 2015 surrounded by his children and sisters. Ken was born on August 2, 1943 to Frank and Fay Rankin in Salt Lake City, UT. He graduated from Humboldt High School, Winnemucca, Nevada. After graduation Ken enlisted in the United States Air Force and later hired on as a brakeman on March 31, 1966 for Western Pacific Railroad. He married Gae Rankin on September 24, 1976 and together they led a wonderful life. Ken retired as a conductor from the Union Pacific Railroad on Aug 1, 2003. During retirement he pursued his passion of golf and worked part time at Bountiful Ridge Golf Course as maintenance personnel. Ken was a wonderful and giving person with a big heart. He quietly gave of himself without expecting anything in return.
Ken is preceded in passing by his wife Gae and parents Frank and Fay Rankin. He survived by his children: Kenny Jr., Kim (Clint), Shane (Amber), Tim (Jodi), and Justin; 14 grandchildren, 1 great grandchild and siblings Kathy (Terry) and Karla (Greg).
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 25, 2015 at Lindquist’s Bountiful Mortuary 727 N. 400 E. Bountiful, where friends may visit from 9:30 – 11:00 am prior to the services. Interment following at Bountiful City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the COPD foundation, 3300 Ponce De Leon Blvd. Miami, FL 33134 donate@copdfoundation.org.
