Kenneth M. Rasmussen

Kenneth M. Rasmussen passed away Monday, August 4, 2008 surrounded by his family in the Lakeview Hospital, Bountiful, Utah.

Ken was born February 19, 1924 and raised in Castle Dale, Utah to Merrald and Mildred VanBuren Rasmussen. He attended Utah State in Logan, Utah where he met and later married Shirley Wiley in the Logan Temple, June 8, 1945.

Ken worked at Hill Air Force Base as a civilian technician for over 30 years. He loved to go fishing, waterskiing, making wooden cradles, and giving grandchildren rides on his four wheeler. He was active in the Orchard 3rd Ward in many callings that evolved working with the youth, teaching many to water ski. He was known as the neighborhood grandpa and "fix-it-man".

He is survived by his wife, daughters Peggy (Larris) Hunting, Vernal; Jackie (Mike) Hall, Centerville, daughter-in-law Utahann Rasmussen, Riverton, 18 grandchildren, 38 great grandchildren, brothers Elwin, Castle Dale; Keith, Orangeville; Ronald, Castle Dale; sister Coleen Beach, Birchwood, WI. Preceded in death by his parents, daughter Patty; son Kenneth W. and great grandson Braxton Kay Hall.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, August 8, 2008 at the Orchard 3rd Ward, 261 E. Center, North Salt Lake. Friends may call Thursday Aug. 7th from 6-8 pm at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. and 12:30 -1:30 pm at the church prior to services. Interment Bountiful City Cemetery.
