Kenneth “Kenny” L. Rendon

February 4, 1954 ~ November 27, 2017

Kenneth “Kenny” Rendon, loving husband, dad, grandfather, brother, and friend passed away peacefully, at the age of 63, on November 27, 2017 at home with his loving wife by his side. Kenny fought a yearlong battle with non-alcohol liver disease.  He was waiting for a liver donor when he suffered a hemorrhagic stroke.

He was born on February 4, 1954 in Ogden to Leo and Sadie Rendon.  He attended Ogden City Schools and graduated from Ogden High.  He received his degrees from Weber State University.

He married Nadine M. Barela on September 30, 2000 and at that time he said it was a Y2K marriage for eternity.   He had finally found his soulmate and eternal love.

He worked for the Weber County Road Department, was a mortgage loan officer for many years, he currently worked for Hill Air Force Base as an Equipment Specialist for Mature and Proven Aircraft.  Throughout the years he’s established many friendships from everywhere he has worked.

He was an avid golfer and loved his golf buddies. Later on Kenny bought all of the toys he wanted so he could enjoy ATV riding, camping and fishing with his family, In-laws and many friends.  He loved watching his grandkids Miranda and Isaiah play sports and went to all of their games until he got too sick to watch.  He loved listening and dancing to Mexican music, and he was the best dancer and twirled his dance partners around the dance floor.  He loved playing guitar. It’s safe to say that he was the best-looking guy on the dance floor.  His rugged and handsome looks will be forever remembered. He loved going to Wendover.  Most of all he loved spending time with his large family, friends and grandkids. We will miss his sense of humor, constant smile, and laugh. Family gatherings will not be the same without him.

We all thank the Lord that Kenny learned to pray because he now prays for us.

Kenny is survived by his loving wife of 17 years; his mother, Sadie; his children, Lance (Teresa) Rendon, Sheri (Mitch) Smolcha, Cody (Leah) Rendon, and Blake Rendon; his brother, Nelson Rendon (Gloria); and sister, Darlene Overton (John); his mother-in-law, LaDean Barela; his stepchildren, Jesse Patino, Antonio Patino, and Corrinna (James) Trevino;, his in-laws who he loved dearly, and very special friends Lee Grundy and Ernie Schneiter who were the only two who got a smile from Kenny during his last days. He leaves behind nine grandkids and two great-grandkids. Miranda and Isaiah Sanchez will always have a special place in their heart for their grandpa who helped raise them when they were younger and they are amazing and smart because of him.

He was preceded in death by his father, Leo Rendon; his brothers, Mike and Billy Rendon; and his father-in-law, Orlando Barela.

Many thanks to IMC Transplant Center, the Nursing Staff,  Dr. Frech, and Hearts for Hospice for their help in caring for Kenny.

A memorial service will be held on Friday, December 1, 2017 at 12 p.m. at Alpine Christian Church, 5050 South 1275 West, Riverdale, UT. Friends may visit with family on Friday from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. at the church. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
