MARRIOTT-SLATERVILLE a€" Kenneth James Woolf, 78, passed away at his home on Sunday, February 8, 2009.

He was born December 4, 1930 in Hyde Park, Utah, a son of Andrew Nyman and Rachel Ball Woolf. He was educated in Layton and attended Weber State College.

Ken married Barbara Smedley on December 12, 1953 in Las Vegas, Nevada. They raised three children a€" Doug, Steve, and Lisa.

Ken was an Army Veteran of the Korean War where he was a member of the Red Legs Skiing Team in Germany.

He worked for the Southern Pacific Railroad as a conductor, retiring after 36 years of service.

Ken and Barbara were members of the American Quarter Horse Association. They enjoyed breeding and racing horses.

Ken has his final call to post. He made it down the stretch and past the finish line a€" a job well done. We will miss you and always love you.

Ken is survived by his wife, Barbara Rae Smedley Woolf, Marriott-Slaterville; his children, Douglas Ken Woolf, West Haven; Steven James Woolf, Holbrook, AZ; Lisa Woolf (Jim) Dyer, West Jordan; eight grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

Also surviving are his sister, Cleo Woolf (Ray) Daines, Sandy, UT; and his stepfather, Archie Dee (Bonnie) Stanger, Snowflake, AZ.

Memorial services will be held Friday, February 13 at 11 a.m. at the Marriott-Slaterville LDS Ward Chapel, 250 North 1500 West.

Family will meet friends at the Ward Chapel on Friday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.

Inurment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that donations be made to the Perpetual Education Fund for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
