Kent Dennis Seegmiller 1961 ~ 2009

KAYSVILLE - Our loving son, brother and uncle age 47, died Monday April 27, 2009 after a long and courageous battle against cancer.

He was born October 12, 1961 in Ridgecrest, California to Dennis Frank and Maureen Ricks Seegmiller.

Kent is survived by his siblings Kirk (Sopha), Janna (Jon) Vodden, Brian (Kim), and Val and 11 nieces and nephews.

He served a LDS Mission in Tampa Bay, Florida 1982 - 84. He attended the University of Utah and excelled in percussion music, playing in the U of U drum line and with the percussion ensemble. He also performed with the Mormon Youth Symphony for several years and was principle percussionist with the Sandy City Symphony.

Kent was introduced to fishing by his grandfather, Frank Ricks, and became expert at fly tying and an avid fly fisherman.

Family was important to him and he enjoyed spending time with his nieces and nephews and extended family members. He will be greatly missed.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, May 2, 2009 at 2 p.m. at the Kaysville East Stake Center, 201 So. 600 E. Friends and family may call Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist''s Kaysville Mortuary, 400 North Main and Saturday from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. at the church.

Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.

The family would like to thank the doctors and medical staff at the Huntsman Cancer Institute and the University of Utah Medical Center.
