Kera Noelle Goar

January 8, 2005 ~ May 25, 2014

Kera Noelle Goar passed away peacefully in her home in West Point, Utah, surrounded by her family on Sunday May 25, 2014 at 5:10 p.m., due to a rare brain tumor called Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG).

Kera was born in McAllen, TX on January 8, 2005. She is the daughter of David Goar and Staci Adams Goar. Kera instantly captured our hearts with her bright blue eyes and beautiful long dark eyelashes, her heart shaped lips and contagious smile.

Kera was an independent soul right from the start. She succeeded at something the first time she tried it, was a brilliant child and straight A student. She was independently crawling around the house and up and down the stairs at about six months old. Kera was perfect in every way. Kera was a talented artist and even won several artistic competitions. She loved doing gymnastics and was a natural at it. She enjoyed spending time with all of her friends, and doing back flips on the trampoline was a favorite past time.

Kera became a baptized member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints at eight years old. She had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and the gospel. After her baptism she shared her testimony and remarked that the gift of the Holy Ghost was the best gift she could ever be given. Her good example and strong shining spirit was felt by everyone who came into contact with her. She touched the hearts of so many of us, and will continue to be an example to others. Kera will be greatly missed and those of us left behind are all better people for knowing her.

Kera is survived by her father David Goar, her mother Staci Adams Goar, and her brothers Jacob, Michael and Ryder Goar.

A viewing will be held on Friday May 30, 2014 from 6-8 p.m. at the Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 West 5600 South. Funeral services will be held on Saturday May 31, 2014 at 11 a.m. at the Lakeside Stake Center, 855 North 4000 West, West Point. There will also be a viewing from 9:30-10:30 before the service begins.

Interment will follow at the West Point City Cemetery, 80 North 4000 West. A family luncheon will follow the interment at the Stake Center, 855 North 4000 West, West Point.
