Keri Hogge Barker
October 11, 1970 ~ July 30, 2017
Keri Hogge Barker has been welcomed home into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father and reunited with her daughter, Kymbree. Keri was born in Ogden, Utah on October 11, 1970 to Kenneth Ernest and ReNee Hancey Hogge. She grew up in Warren, Utah and attended Plain City Elementary, Wahlquist Junior High, and Weber High School. She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings.
As a child, Keri was a fun-loving little girl who loved to dance and sing for anyone who would watch and listen. She enjoyed riding horses and competing in the little buckaroo rodeo where she won Princess. She brought so much joy to her family.
Keri was loved by everyone who knew her. Her presence was felt the minute she walked into a room. Not only was she stunningly beautiful, but her bubbly personality was contagious. Keri could initiate laughter in an instant with her wit. She was always the life of the party.
One of Keri's greatest gifts was her genuine love and concern for others, especially her family. She showed compassion for everyone. The light in her eyes could comfort your soul. If you ever met as strangers, she would have been your best friend after only a few minutes. Keri was truly Christ-like because she had a personal relationship with her Savior.
Although she was full of light and happiness, there were dark, difficult times in her life. It was not easy for her, but she was resilient. Keri experienced events in her time here that no one should ever face. Unbeknownst to many, she lived with much sadness and despair in her later years, yet she still had the ability to love beyond comprehension and bring happiness to others. In the end, she loved so passionately that it broke her heart.
Keri leaves behind her husband, Troy Barker, Stansberry Park; her parents, Kenneth and ReNee Hogge, Warren; her children, Jaden Weaver, Ogden and Shaylee (Edgar) Valencia, Brycen Gabaldon, Shayna Lin (Gonzo) Torres, and Kaycen Gabaldon, all of Arizona; brothers, Shawn (Chantelle) Hogge, Pleasant View, and Kevin Hogge, Ogden; her sister, Shellie (Jackson) Van Dyke, Layton; and her grandsons, Raiden and Ryan Valencia, of Arizona.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Kymbree Gabaldon and her grandparents.
