Kerry Dee Arnold
LAYTON - Kerry Dee Arnold, age 65, passed away at his home on December 6, 2015 after an extended illness. He was born September 2, 1950 in Rexburg, Idaho to Verl Dee Arnold and Shirley Ricks. As the second of five children, he grew up on the family farm in Rexburg, Idaho and learned hard work and ingenuity at a young age. He graduated from Madison High School and attended Idaho State University studying electrical engineering. He married Peggy Louise Short in 1973. They were later divorced. They had three children. He met the love of his life Martha Ann Archibald and they were sealed in the Logan UT Temple January 8, 1982. They had three children.
He was devoted to serving those around him. In addition to his community and career service he served his wards and stakes in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, through callings as a scoutmaster, on the high council and the bishopric. While dealing with his ongoing illness, he served a mission as a family history consultant. He had a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and often shared it with those around him.
He was a builder by heart and by skill. He contributed to many meaningful projects and built relationships through 35 years of dedicated leadership. He was extremely proud of his team’s accomplishment with the 2005 headquarters of Big-D Construction in Salt Lake City, UT. He admired and loved those he worked with and often asked about them.
He loved the outdoors and spending time with his family. He enjoyed fishing, camping, hiking and just being in nature.
He is preceded in death by Peggy and his mother and father.
He is survived by his wife Ann, his six children; Michelle, Jennifer (Tony Grossman), Jeff (Marianne), James, Kris and Jordan; his sister Sherry (Bill Tanner), his brothers Dale (Carrie), Don (Sherrie Ann) and David (Linda); and his six grandsons and one granddaughter.
Funeral services will be held Friday, December 11, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the Hobbs Creek Ward, 2505 N. Church Street Layton, UT. Friends may visit family Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Rd. and Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church.
