In Loving Memory of Kevin Jay Whitehead
June 4, 1958 - November 7, 2023
Kevin Jay Whitehead, a devoted father, loyal husband, passionate innovator, and disciple of Jesus Christ returned home to his Heavenly Father on November 7, 2023, at the age of 65 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on June 4, 1958, in Ogden, Utah, Kevin grew up in a loving home and enjoyed playing sports and traveling with his family. He also enjoyed exploring the areas around their home on his motorcycle. He had a passion for playing tennis, where he played for Ben Lomond High School. He developed characteristics as a peacemaker, a hard worker, and a self-assured man which were foundational for his adult life.
Kevin developed a curiosity for electronics from a young age which drove him to explore how things worked. He continuously tinkered with anything he could find to develop gadgets around his home. This led him to pursue a degree in Electrical Engineering from Utah State University, followed by a passionate and successful career as an Electrical Engineer for Jetway Systems (Ogden, UT) and American Pacific Corporation (Cedar City, UT). His career was highlighted by industry-changing innovation and world travel.
Yet, above all, Kevin's heart belonged to his beloved family. He was a dedicated husband, a loving father, and a cherished friend. Kevin's kindness, generosity, strength, and unwavering patience brought joy to those fortunate enough to be a part of his life.
Kevin's memory will live on in the hearts of those he leaves behind. He is survived by his spouse Shari Whitehead; four children, Tyson (Jessica) Whitehead, Drew Whitehead, Logan (Shae) Whitehead, Megan Whitehead; and 11 grandchildren. He is also survived by two brothers, Craig (Sandy) Whitehead, Murray (Gina) Whitehead, and two sisters, Susan (Bob) Morris, Lori (Kevin) Saunders.
