Kim Hall, Sr.

Kim F. Hall, Sr.

May 15, 1941 ~ July 21, 2015

Kim F. Hall Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend passed away at the age of 74 at home of melanoma cancer.  Kim was born May 15, 1941 in the Park City Miner’s Hospital in Park City, Utah to Barney C and Iola Johnson Hall.  He was the youngest child with three older sisters and one older brother.  He attended Marshall Elementary in Park City, West Jordan Junior High School, Park City High School and Weber State University.

In 1958 Kim married Margie Nuneviller.  They had two children, Kim F. Hall, Jr. and Tracy Hall Hardy.  Kim joined the Marine Corps in 1959 and their family lived in many places.  Kim and Margie divorced in 1971.

He was employed with Hercules Missile Industries and HAFB after his military service.  However, he finally got his dream job with the Utah Highway Patrol – a dream he had since he was 7 years old.  He was a driver for Governor Calvin Rampton while on the patrol.  He served with UHP for nine years then transferred to the Narcotics Division for the state.  He was over the Airport Narcotic’s office and worked with other narcotic agencies in the state.  He had many exciting experiences working undercover and people loved to hear his stories.  He was a member of UPOA, UNOA, and BPOE.

Kim and Patti (Baker) Rhees started their love affair in 1985.  They were married December 5, 1986.  They did everything together and felt very blessed to have been brought into each other’s lives.  They would laugh about all they survived together – Hurricane Floyd in Virginia Beach, VA, a gang shooting at their hotel in Laughlin, NV, and an earthquake in Hawaii to a name a few.  Patti brought three children into the marriage, Lori Rhees (Allan) Chappell, Stephen (Kathy) Rhees, and Stefani Rhees.

Kim purchased a Harley Davidson and was a member of Harley Owners Group (HOG) and the local chapter of NUHOG where he served as Asst. Director and Road Leader.  He also belonged to the Patriot Guard.  Patti loved to ride behind him whether rain or shine.  They were in more parades than you could count and saw many wonderful places and states on their Harley – including Colorado, Nevada, Montana, Idaho, Wyoming, and also Hawaii, Kentucky, and Tennessee.

Kim was an animal lover through and through – especially little doggies.  His little Scruffy and he were hooked at the hip.  That little dog followed him everywhere and understood everything Kim would say to him.  He and Patti were supporters of Best Friends Animal Society in Kanab, Utah since 1987 where they both volunteered each year.  Their love of dogs included Kilo, Nike, Boodee (who are in heaven with him now) and Bella, Cooper, and Scruffy.

Those who went before him were his parents, sisters, Peggy (Belvin) Blonquist and Sally (Carl) Robison; and his brother, Bud (Shirley) Hall. He is survived by his sister, Leona (Rich) Martinez, Park City; his wife, Patti, North Ogden; his children, Kim (Ragan Brown) Hall and their twin sons, Wyatt and Kove Hall, West Weber; and Tracy Hardy and her daughters, Arlee, Kashlie, and Rio, Woodruff.  He is also survived by Patti’s children, Lori (Allan) Chappell of Versailles, KY; Steve (Kathy) Rhees (Aaron Douglas and Devin Douglas; Amy, Madison, and Chase Rhees), Ogden; and Stefani Rhees, Ogden; and one great-grandson from Amy, Tayson Storey.

Funeral services will be held on Saturday, July 25, 2015 at 2 p.m. at the Ascension Lutheran Church, 1105 N. Washington Blvd., Ogden.  Friends may visit with family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. at the church.  Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden.  Services entrusted to Lindquist’s North Ogden Mortuary.
