Kim “Kimmer” Bruce Downing

July 13, 1956 – July 8, 2017

Kim “Kimmer’ Bruce Downing, son of Loren and Jeanine Downing, and Doris and Larry Wolford, born on July 13, 1956 in Tecumseh, Michigan, has passed away.  He left us on July 8, 2017, just a few days before his 61st birthday.

When Kim was a young boy, his family moved from Michigan to California.  In school he excelled in wrestling and baseball, and was known for his beautiful singing voice in an acapella choir.  Life was an adventure, with moves around the country every few years that would take him to Nebraska, Texas twice, Kentucky, again to California, and Utah.  Kim has made Utah his home for the last 22 years.  He especially enjoyed fishing, boating and hiking that Utah has to offer.  He loved watching football as well.

Kim leaves behind his parents, Loren and Doris, his sisters, Elaine Runyan and Tamara (Tom) Sells, his daughter Suzanne, nephews, nieces, and many cousins.  All are saddened at his sudden and unexpected passing.  We thought we had many more years to spend with Kim.

Come celebrate Kim’s life with us at a memorial celebration on Sunday, July 23, 2017 from 5 to 7 p.m. at 1034 Hidden Drive, Layton, Utah  84041 at his sister Elaine’s home.

This will be a potluck meal, bring a side and you should come prepared to share your favorite Kimmer memory.

A fund has been set up at the Cache Valley Bank in Layton at 1333 N. Hillfield Rd., Layton, UT 84041 to help with memorial expenses.  You can call at 801 927-6600 or mail as you wish.

Thank you to all who held us up with your prayers while Kim was in the hospital and we had to make some difficult decisions.  We felt your loving hands upon us and your arms around us.  We will be forever grateful to the doctors, nurses and aides at McKay-Dee hospital for their loving, gentle care of our brother.  It is our prayer that the comfort he sought, he will receive from the Living Christ, Our Lord.
