Kip W Woodward

Kip W Woodward passed away peacefully in his home on Friday, March 14, 2014 on his 56th Birthday.

He was born on March 14, 1958 to Gail R. Woodward and Barbara Whitesides Woodward in Layton, Utah. The fourth of five sons, he grew up exploring the undeveloped areas in east Layton, loved working with animals, enjoyed playing little league, loved hunting and fishing and was an Eagle Scout.

He graduated from Layton High School and became a tradesman in the Plumbers and Steamfitters Union where he worked for nearly 30 years.

In 1980 he married Gina Bankhead, they lived in Ogden and from this union they had 4 children.

After a divorce he later married Joleen Gibson.

He was a lover of good, honest, hard work. He never turned down the opportunity to work overtime. He always was excited to go on a “job” with his brothers, nephews and dad. He passed this hard work ethic on to his children.  He was a great father who worked hard to provide for his family.

In his free time you would find him with close friends and family hunting or fishing. He lived a simple life and didn’t want for much but he was always willing to give or help those in need, he always thought of others first. Kip had an easy-going attitude and always looked for the best in people. He referred to most as “Bud”.

Kip is survived by his 4 children; Weston (Erica) Woodward, Jenny (Clint) Tubbs, Leah Woodward and Adam Woodward, and his 3 grandchildren; Cooper, Claire, Alex and one on the way.

He is also survived by Joleen Woodward, Judee Woodward and his four brothers; Mark (Patty) Woodward, Joe (Pam) Woodward, Ross (RaeAnn) Woodward and Carl (Patti) Woodward.

He is preceded in death by his mother and father.

Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 20, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit family on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
