Kirkwood Morrison Lee

April 23, 1925 ~ December 13, 2017

Kirkwood Morrison Lee, 92, died surrounded by family on Wednesday morning, December 13, 2017 at his home in Washington Terrace where he had lived for 60 years.

Born April 23, 1925 in Brigham City to Eli Forsgren and Alice Morrison Lee, Kirk was the youngest of five children and enjoyed his youth there and later in Fillmore and Delta before settling in the Terrace. After high school Kirk enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps and served during WWII and later for the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, being honorably discharged as a Corporal toward the end of 1952.

He pursued his higher education in mechanical engineering and served for many years in the Aerospace Industry, including at Hill Air Force Base and for Boeing.

Kirk married Aleta Knight on July 3, 1952 and the couple enjoyed more than 64 years of marriage prior to her passing in May of 2017. They raised four children together.

Kirk and Aleta loved square dancing, traveling for family vacations to South Dakota (but never in a straight line), and teasing each other over their morning coffee. In addition to growing tomatoes for her, which he loved to produce and she loved to eat, Kirk was passionate about building and flying RC model planes, being grumpy with his grandkids, and tinkering – he loved to invent things.

Kirk had true grit.

He is survived by his two daughters, Peggy Lee, Washington Terrace, and Teresa (Sid) Stromberg, Malad, ID; three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. In addition to his wife he was preceded in death by two children.

At his request, private services will be held for family. Cremation entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
