Kiyoko Sayama lived a happy, long life and passed away, on September 24, at age 92 in Layton, Utah. She was born on July 12, 1920, to Kuraji and Miyo Shirai in Berkeley, California. She married Hiroshi Sayama on Feburary 14, 1939, in Brigham City. They had four sons together and resided in West Corinne until retirement in 1976, when they moved to Ogden.

She was a member of the Ogden Japanese Christian Church.

Surviving are four sons, Yoshio (Miwako) West Point, Harry (Sandy) Bountiful, Dale (Jeannie) Bountiful, Junior (Cheryl) East Layton; eleven grand children and thirteen great grand children. Also, surviving is one sister, Kazuko Matsuda, Hiroshima, Japan.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hiroshi, her parents, three brothers, Akira Shirai, Tsunao Shirai, and Kiyoshi Shirai.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 29, 2012 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist''s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. in South Ogden.
