Klazina Schoens
WASHINGTON TERRACE - Klazina Schoens passed away Thursday, December 11, 2008 from various complications due to health. She died peacefully at McKay Dee Hospital surrounded by her son and daughter, Bill and Monica, the two people she held closest to her heart.
She was born on November 13, 1930 in Den Haag Netherlands to Klazina van Anrooij-Pruissen and Willem Jurrianus Pruissen.
Klazina married Adrian Schoens in August of 1951 in Holland before migrating to the United States in 1957, where she later became a naturalized citizen in August of 1962. The couple later divorced in 1967.
She retired from Fram Corporation after 25 years of loyal service in 1993.
Klazina loved trips to Wendover, bingo at the Eagles but especially time spent with her children.
She is survived by her son, William Schoens and her daughter, Monica (Joe) Martinez. She is also survived by one sister, Riek Roelofs, a brother Govert Pruissen in the United States as well as one sister, Goverdien van Der Eem, one brother, Gijs (Francien) Pruissen of Holland and one brother, Pete Pruissen of Frankfurt, Germany, as well as many nieces and nephews.
Her son and daughter would like to thank the many doctors and nurses of McKay Dee Hospital and the excellent care received at the Crestwood Care Center of Ogden. These individuals went above and beyond in the compassionate care provided to Klazina. They must also mention the special care given at home to Klazina by Applegate Home Care. She formed a great fondness for the personnel who cared for her in her home.
A special thanks to Opal Jones her neighbor at the Heritage House Apartments, for the special friendship they shared.
A gathering of friends and family will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2008 from 6 to 7 p.m. with a Rosary following at 7 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Cremation under the direction of Lindquist’s Crematory.
