Klea V. Hales
OGDEN – Klea VandenBosch Hales, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, May 21, 2008 at Wasatch Care Center at the age of 80, of causes incident to age.
Klea was born May 16, 1928 in Ogden, Utah, the second child of Lou Henry and Ella Dean VandenBosch. She attended Washington School and graduated from Ogden High School.
She worked in retailing including C.C. Anderson and Kress. She also helped her father for many years at his photography studio. Klea later worked at L.R. Samuel’s and Auerbach’s department stores.
Klea married Glenn Phillip Hales on October 11, 1949 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. They are the parents of four daughters and one son: Jann (Donald) Solomon, Deborah (Douglas) Hartmann (deceased), Brook Phillip (Denise), Lisa (Mark) McFarland, and Jenene (Louis) Martinez. She is the grandmother of 13 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brothers and sisters, Paul, Karen, Noel, David and Linda.
As a lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Klea served in many callings in the auxiliary organizations and as an ordinance worker for 10 years in the Ogden Temple with Glenn.
The family would like to extend their sincere thanks and appreciation to the wonderful staff at Wasatch Care Center for their loving assistance over the past year.
She was preceded in death by her husband Glenn, daughter Debbie, her parents and her older sister, Lois.
Funeral services will be held Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at 11 a.m. at the Washington Terrace 10th Ward Chapel, 125 East 5350 South.
Family and friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd. on Tuesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday at the Ward Chapel from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
