Kristina “Kris” Perkins, 55, of Sunset City, UT passed away 7 November 2023 in Ogden, UT. after a yearlong valiant battle with cancer.
Kris was born on 9 May 1968 in Phoenix, AZ. Kris has an identical twin sister, Kim, and both she and her sister were adopted 12 May 1968 by Claude Berry and Bette Berry (née McKenzie) in Phoenix, AZ. Kris was raised in Escondido, CA and attended Orange Glen High School. Her parents decided to move the family to Indian Valley Idaho where she graduated from Cambridge High School in May 1987.
Kris was an accomplished chef and was known for her baking skills. After accomplishing all she could as a pâtissier, Kris decided on a career move and went to work as a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. As always with her tenacious drive and wanting to better herself
she worked hard and accepted a position as a business customer service representative for the Internal Revenue Service.
In 2011, she met Jimmy Perkins and became engaged in 2012. These two loving people were wed in the eyes of God on 19 October 2013 at North Central Baptist Church in Roy, UT and recently celebrated their 10-year anniversary.
Kris has three wonderful sons, Branden, Michael and Logan Joiner and they meant the world to her and she loves them still very, very, much. Though she had several titles of mother, wife, daughter, and sister by far her most treasured title is that of being a grandmother to Blake and
Madelyn Joiner. Her eyes would light up with pride every time she heard of their accomplishments, whether it was Blake getting a starting position on the school football team or Madelyn becoming a cheerleader.
Kris will always be remembered for her fiery red hair, gleaming bright eyes, and a heart as big as the whole outdoors and an infectious ear to ear smile that would make others smile with her. She came to know Jesus Christ as her Savior in 2013 and is now in the arms of our Lord. We
couldn’t have asked for a better person and the impact that she has made on family and friends left a loving impression. Every person who she has touched will miss her every day, but her memory will live on in our hearts and minds.
The pall bearers will be Ken Daniels, David Daniels, Sam McDaniel, Jeff Lee, Coltan Eastman and Tyler Twogood. The honorary pall bearers will be her sons Branden, Michael, Logan and her grandson Blake Joiner.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday November 18, 2023, at 11:00 a.m. at the Faith Baptist Church, 2430 N. Fairfield Rd., Layton, Utah. Friends may visit with family prior to services from 10:00 to 10:45 a.m. at the church.
