Kristine Speechly Aldous, loving daughter, sister, mother, and grandmother, passed away Sunday, December 5, 2010 at her home.
Kris was born December 8, 1947, the youngest of four children, to Eric H. and Melba Thornton Speechly. She grew up in Ogden and graduated from Ogden High School.
Kris was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Kris was employed her entire career by the federal government at Hill Air Force Base in the contracting directorate.
In 1968, she married William "Bill" Aldous. They had two children, Dustin E. Aldous and Heather Aldous. They were later divorced.
Kris raised her children in Roy and was very active in their lives. She whole-heartedly supported the Utah Deaf and Blind School, and was one of the biggest cheerleaders for the Roy High Royalaires.
Her home was an immaculate place where she enjoyed decorating and entertaining friends and family. One of Kris'' favorite hobbies was traveling, especially to the Bahamas. She was a valued member of the "Bahama Mamas".
She is survived by her mother, Melba Thornton Speechly, Ogden; sister, Maxene Speechly Tanner, Duck Creek Village, Bahamas; brothers, Norman E. (Patti) Speechly, Pleasant View; Steven S. (Diana) Speechly, Ogden. She also leaves behind her loving daughter, Heather (Craig) Freeman, West Point; her four grandchildren, Grady Freeman, Bodhi Freeman, and her two littlest grandbabies, Cole "Punkie" Freeman and Cooper "Punkin" Freeman; and her special "other daughter" Jessi.
She was preceded in death by her son, Dustin E. Aldous, and her father, Eric H. Speechly.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 14 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Family will meet friends at the mortuary on Monday, December 13 from 6 to 8 p.m. and Tuesday 10 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Ogden City Cemetery.
