Kristy Thurnwald

Kristy Lynn Thurnwald, 54 of Syracuse, Utah passed away on October 20, 2016, following a long illness.

Kristy was born in Tooele, Utah on October 13, 1962. She grew up and attended school in Grantsville, Utah. She met her husband of 34 years, Dieter Thurnwald at an event in Price Utah in 1982. After their marriage, they started their lives together in Centerville. After 2 years, purchased a home in Layton, Utah and 12 years later moved to a new home in Syracuse, Utah, where they have been living ever since. Kristy was a stay at home mom until her children were older, but still arranged her schedule so she could be home before and after school, to attend to their needs.  Her compassion and desire to help others lead her to a career as a licensed CNA, which she loved dearly and continued to do for 11 years.  She enjoyed baking goodies for the community, especially the Police and Fire Dept. and spending time with her family.  She loved camping and despite her fear of water, absolutely loved boating and riding Jet-Skis.  She will be dearly missed, but forever with us, flying amongst the angels and watching over us.

Kristy is survived by her husband Dieter Thurnwald, son Nikolas Thurnwald, daughters Amber (James) Baxter and Amie Thurnwald, mother Margene Dudley, sister Karen (Jeff) Watson and brothers Thomas (Linda) Dudley and Robert Rupp and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Harmony Home Health and Hospice for their support throughout her valiant battle.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, October 29, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road, with Chaplain Jennifer Wright officiating.  Friends may visit family Saturday from 12:30 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary.

Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Park at Layton, 1867 No. Fairfield Road, Layton, UT.
