L. Mack Fuller
NORTH OGDEN – Mack Fuller, 78, our Husband, Dad, Granddad and Great-Granddad, died Wednesday, January 2, 2008.
Mack was born March 13, 1929 in the family home in Eden, Utah, a son of Leonard and Phylis Berlin Fuller. He grew up and was educated in Eden and attended Weber High School. He joined the U.S. Navy at 17 years old and served aboard the Destroyers USS Hanson (DD-832) and USS Sarsfield (DD-837) in the Asian Fleet.
Shortly after his discharge from the Navy he met the love of his life, Bette Joy Brown. They were married on June 25, 1948 and spent 60 wonderful years together. Together they raised two children, Vicki (Dennis) Jennings, St. George, Utah and Curt (Holly) Fuller, North Ogden, Utah. Their family grew to five grandchildren, Jenica Fuller, Amber (Dave) Hansen, Shane (Stephanie) Fuller, Lora Jennings, and Christopher Jennings, and three great-grandchildren, Audrey, Merrin, and Kohl Hansen.
Mack spent most of his working career as a welder at HAFB, retiring in 1975. But his true love was being out of doors. Whether it was deer hunting and fishing in his younger years, or boating and golfing later in his life, he never let his job interfere with what he enjoyed. Mack and Bette also loved to travel and visited many far off places including Hawaii, China, the Caribbean, and Australia.
Mack is survived by his wife, his children and their families, two older sisters, Marvel Pendergraft of Salem, Oregon and Shirley (Howard) Haldeman of Eden, Utah and his younger brother, Kent (Sue) Fuller, Eden, Utah.
