LaDonna Draper Barthlome
NORTH OGDEN a" LaDonna Draper Barthlome, 82, a very special lady, passed away Sunday, April 26, 2009 at McKay-Dee Hospital from pancreatic cancer.
She was born February 8, 1927 in Salt Lake City, the fourth of six children born to Gladys Elizabeth Harris and Fenton Thomas Draper. Shortly after her birth the family returned to their hometown of Moroni, Utah, where she was raised and graduated from Moroni High School. She moved to Salt Lake City in 1945 where she worked at the Salt Lake Main Post Office followed by Mountain Bell Telephone Company in the accounting/billing department.
On June 17, 1948, LaDonna married Blain Pond Barthlome in the Manti LDS Temple and they moved to the Barthlome ranch in Thatcher, Idaho for one year, returning to Salt Lake City and her previous job at Mountain Bell. In 1952 they moved to Ogden and she transferred to the Ogden Telephone Business Office as a Service Representative becoming a Business Office Supervisor. She retired with 32 years of service at Mountain Bell (now Qwest). She had been a resident of North Ogden since 1966. Blain passed away August 20, 2002.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints North Ogden 3rd Ward.
LaDonna cherished her family and was grateful for the many blessings of love, happiness and caring they brought her. She honored her Pioneer heritage by carrying on the legacy of hard work, service, love of the gospel and enduring to the end. She enjoyed her garden and flowers.
Surviving are her daughter, Lisa (Tray) Trease of North Ogden and their children, Sean, (Jill), Ryan (Angie), Lance (Amanda), Andre, and Brock; her son, Gregory Barthlome of Nampa, Idaho and his children, Caleb, Parker, Camille, Shandrie and Macie; and three great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are her sisters, LaRue Seely, Mtn. Pleasant; Merlence Hermansen, Salt Lake City; Margie Holt, Las Vegas, NV; brother, Ralph Draper, Roosevelt, UT; stepsister Dona Denison, stepbrother, Glade Smith, and a special sister-in-law Lawana Draper Peterson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, brothers Burdell, Harris, Parry, and Tom, and sister LaRetta, three stepsisters and one stepbrother.
The family would like to acknowledge and thank Dr. Curtis Healey, Lisa R., Dr. Robert Moesinger, Jr., Dr. Vincent Hansen and staff, and the doctors and staff on the 3rd floor IMC unit at McKay-Dee Hospital for the care they gave her.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd.
Friends may call at the mortuary on Friday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Saturday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery, North Ogden, Utah.
