Lana Jean Hankins, 66, passed away Saturday, May 26, 2012 at Ogden Regional Medical Center.
She was born on August 28, 1945 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Ken and Maudie Stayner. She grew up in various places in Utah, Idaho, and California.
She met Ronald Wade Hankins in a bowling alley and they were later married on November 22, 1974 in San Carlos, California. In their life together, they enjoyed boating, motorcycling, traveling, fishing, camping, and spending any moment they could laughing and being together. As a member of the LDS church, Lana served in various callings, including the Relief Society President, Young Women''s President, and a Baptistery temple worker with her husband in the Ogden Temple. Lana was affectionately known as "Nana" by her five grandkids, who she loved and cared for tenderly. She could always be counted on to brighten anyone''s spirit and bless the lives of those who felt of her sweet and humorous personality. Her willing and courageous spirit, along with the extensive support of her husband, aided Lana through many hard-fought medical battles throughout these last years. But despite her struggles, she still served as a beacon of hope, inspiration, and positivity for her friends and family. Lana will always be remembered for her strength and enduring love. She is survived by her husband, Ron; two daughters, Wendy (Mark) Attinger, Scottsdale, AZ; Amy Jean Isaacson, Sandy UT; five grandchildren, Laurin, McKenna, Shaylee, Heather Michael, and a great-granddaughter Kaylee. She was preceded in death by her parents. Funeral services will be held Friday, June 1st at 2 p.m. at Lindquist''s North Ogden Mortuary, 2140 North Washington Blvd.
The family will meet with friends on Thursday, May 31st from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 12:45 to 1:45 p.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Ben Lomond Cemetery.
