TAYLORSVILLE – Lanice Kow-Moi Chung Wong-Filemu, 49, passed away Thursday, April 12, 2018 at her home.
She was born on September 15, 1968 the daughter of Walter Kong Wong Sr. and Pola Dorothy Fanene Wong in Kahuku, Hawaii.
Lanice married Nofovaleane Faiumu Filemu on November 15, 2016 in Gardner Village, West Jordan, Utah.
She was a member of the LDS Church and served a mission from 1989 – 1991 in the Los Angeles Mission.
She graduated from the Sheriff’s Academy in Salt Lake City in 1999 and has served the State of Utah for the last 19 years as a Deputy Sheriff in Salt Lake City.
She liked racquetball, movies, hiking, karaoke, Karate, martial arts, golfing and softball. Lanice had a triple black belt in Karate.
Surviving are her daughter, Pola Waile’a Lanice Wong, mother, Pola Wong, siblings, Walter Wong Sr., Thomas Wong, Lora Santiago, Loreen Leota, LeeAnn Scovel, Nancy Drozdek, many aunts, uncles, cousins, nephews, nieces and her favorite cousin, Kinau Tollefsen.
Preceded in death by her father, Walter Kong Wong Sr. and brother, Warren Ahtim Wong.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, April 21, 2018 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Saturday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery, 500 Crestwood Road, Kaysville.
There will be a luncheon held from to 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. at the Gailey Park Ward Chapel, 500 So. 50 W, Kaysville.
