SUNSET a€" Lanny Ross Ridler Sr., 72, passed away Sunday, January 13, 2008.

He was born on July 30, 1935 in Toronto, Canada the son of Gerald and Mona Ridler.

Lanny served in the U.S. Air Force for 20 years and served a tour in Vietnam. He retired with 20 years service from HAFB.

He was a member of the VFW.

Lanny enjoyed camping, fishing and gardening in his early life. Later in life he could be found outside in his chair enjoying the sunshine.

Surviving are his wife Jean, two sons, Greg (Mary), Lanny (Kelly), four daughters, Vicky (Wes), Sally (Bill), Suzanne, Cindy (Peter), and 13 grandchildren.

Preceded in death by his first wife, Waudelle.

Funeral services will be held Monday, January 21, 2008 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends and family may call Monday from 9:30 to 10:45 at the mortuary. Military honors will be accorded by the HAFB Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be sent to Volunteer Services at George E. Wallin, VAMC, Salt Lake City.
