Lanora K. Poulsen

Our lovely and feisty mother and grandmother, Lanora K. Poulsen, passed away Sunday, December 4, 2011 at the age of 91 surrounded by her loving family.

She was born August 5, 1920 in Burley, Idaho the daughter of Clyde Kempton and Thelma Bailey Kempton.

She married Howard Ray Poulsen on September 11, 1937 in Pocatello, ID. Their marriage was later solemnized in the Logan Temple on December 15, 1939. Lanora was a widow for 36 years after Howard''s passing in 1975. She missed his companionship and the many fun things they did together. She has resided in Clearfield and Roy since 1954.

Lanora enjoyed crocheting, knitting and loved to make soft and cuddly baby quilts for anyone having a new baby. She took pride in having a cute car to drive and was an avid bingo player. She enjoyed family trips to Bear Lake and made yummy dinner rolls at family gatherings.

Surviving are her daughters, Vickie (June) Balaich, Judy (Blair) Green, one son, Rex (Tina) Poulsen, 11 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Lanora was preceded in death by her husband, Howard, sister, Virginia Clay, and granddaughter, Sheila Balaich.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 10, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit family Saturday from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.
