LaPreal Pett Knudsen passed away peacefully surrounded by the comfort of her family October 1, 2008, after a challenging struggle with dementia.
She was born June 16, 1924 in Brigham City, Utah to Henry and Nellie Pett. LaPreal married her high school sweetheart, Henry Knudsen. They were sealed for time and eternity in the LDS Logan Temple on May 24, 1941.
LaPreal was a faithful member of the LDS Church where she served in various callings. She most enjoyed teaching the young women. She worked and retired from ZCMI Corporate Offices.
LaPreal was known for her classy sense of style and beautiful smiling eyes. She had a wonderful gift and talent for sewing. She also enjoyed boating, water skiing, dancing, traveling and attending symphonies and many other musical events. She was an avid walker and very health conscious. Even though she suffered from dementia the last several years, it never diminished her sweet spirit, her smile, nor her ability to laugh.
LaPreal is survived by her daughters, Sonia (John) Weichers, Janet (Richard) Newton; her sisters Mearl Austin, Judy Beaver and Mildred Anderson; her dear eight grandchildren and 19 great-grand children. She is preceded in death by her devoted husband, Henry; daughter, Judy Sherie Carlson; parents; sister Nola Papa and brothers Harold and Robert Pett.
The family wishes to acknowledge and thank Bristol Hospice and the caregivers at Woodland Park and Avalon Care Centers for their tender loving care and support.
Funeral services will be held Monday October 6, 2008 at 11 am at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where friends and family may call Sunday October 5 from 6-8 pm and Monday 10-10:45 am prior to services. Interment Bountiful City Cemetery.
