LaRayne “Pat” Rylands
ROY – LaRayne “Pat” Rylands, 85, died Saturday, April 17, 2010 at Country Pines Assisted Living Center.
She was born December 19, 1924 in Randolph, Utah, a daughter of Solomon Nicholas and Gladys Muir Conley.
Pat married Kenneth Earl Rylands on May 12, 1944 in Evanston, Wyoming. Ken preceded her in death on February 17, 2007.
She was successful and happy as the resident manager at the Ben Lomond Radisson Hotel for many years.
Pat loved to read. She was always interested in politics and history. As a lifelong Democrat, she was involved in many civic and community affairs. Pat was charter president and member for over 30 years of Epsilon Sigma Alpha International, Alpha Tau Chapter, where her pet project was St. Jude Childrens Research Hospital. Most of all, Pat loved summer Sunday dinners and watching the family play in “Mirro and Pops” pool.
Surviving are one daughter, Kay (Jim) Philpott, Roy; two granddaughters, Brittney (Shawn) Gilbert, Syracuse; Megan (Josh) Sparrow, Roy; and four great-grandchildren, Bailey, Hadley, Ryland and Chloe.
Also surviving are one brother, Nick (Dana) Conley, one sister-in-law, Cheryl Conley and many loving nieces and nephews.
Preceding Pat in death were her husband, Ken, and one brother, Duff Conley.
The family would like to thank the wonderful “caregiver family” at Country Pines Assisted Living. Special thanks to Paulette, Kerry and Tilcia, for their respect and kindness.
Funeral services will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd.
Friends may visit with the family at the mortuary on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Thursday 9:45 to 10:45 a.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road.
