LaRee Lamb Gibbons
CLEARFIELD - LaRee Lamb Gibbons, 88, passed away Thursday March 24th in Clinton UT. LaRee was born January 7, 1923 to Willis and Andrea Reese Lamb. See was married to Alvin Joseph Gibbons in 1950 and their union was later solemnized in the Ogden LDS Temple. Alvin preceded her in death in 1984.
LaRee was raised in a humble log house in Hyde Park Utah without the luxuries of running water or electricity. After living through the depression, she financed her own mission to the Northern States. Faithful to the end, she attended the Clearfield 2nd Ward where she served in the Young Womens and Relief Society.
She put herself through Utah State University where she earned a degree in Sociology. She applied her love of children to a lifelong teaching career in Davis County.
Surviving are children Marsha (Don) Carlos, Greg (Carolyn) Gibbons, Ramona (Blaine) Buttars, and Kenneth (Cindy) Gibbons, 19 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are: sister Arlene (Scott) Fluckiger, sister-in-law Dixie (Leland) Gibbons, and sister-in-law Glenna (Blaine) Lamb. She is preceded in death by an infant son Joseph, a grandson Cade, three brothers, and a sister.
She adored her grandchildren and supported their every endeavor. Her life was an example of service, giving, and unconditional love.
Funeral services will be held Monday, March 28, 2011 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist''s Clearfield Mortuary, 1050 So. State Street. Friends may visit family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment at Clearfield City Cemetery.
