Lareen B. Wintle
September 15, 1928 ~ August 23, 2018
SOUTH OGDEN–Lareen B. Wintle, beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend passed away on Thursday, August 23, 2018, at age 89, surrounded by her husband and daughters, who love and adore her. She was born in Ogden, Utah, on September 15, 1928, to Lorin E. and Reta Adams Bachman. She married the love of her life, Donald Wintle, on October 22, 1950 and they were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Logan Temple on September 28, 1956.
Her greatest joys and accomplishments were her children and their families. They were her number one priority. Vacations and family traditions kept our family close. Mom was always looking forward to the next adventure, with dad always saying, “Are you ready Sport?” We firmly believe as mom and dad do, that a family that plays together, stays together.
Mom had a strong testimony of the Lord Jesus Christ. She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served faithfully in many callings.
Her example of love and service will live on through her family. She will always be our pillar of strength and her influence will carry on for generations.
She is survived by her husband, Don, of 68 years; daughters, Deborah Watrin (Chris) Nicholas, Donette Wilde, Christine (Roland) Whitesides, Wendy (Joey) Hill, Ann (Paul) Bowden; 21 grandchildren and 57 great-grandchildren; sister, Beth McGibbon; and brother, Kent (Nancy) Bachman. Preceded in death by her parents; son, David Donald; son-in-law, Alvin Watrin; grandson, Jordan Don Whitesides; great-granddaughters, Piper and Tilly Ashworth; and brother-in-law, John McGibbon.
A celebration of her life will be held on Monday, August 27, 2018 at 11 a.m. at the Burch Creek 5th Ward, 4955 Adams, Ogden. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
A special thank you to Carol, Sherry, and Jan from Inspiration Hospice, Dr. Stephen Bruce and Bishop Wes Hansen for the wonderful care they gave to our mom.
