LaRene Kimber 1926 - 2010

LaRene Bangerter Kimber, 84, passed away on November 12, 2010 in Bountiful, Utah. LaRene was born on July 31, 1926 in Bountiful, Utah. She was the eighth of nine children born to Gertrude Brooks and Alma Bangerter. She attended David High School where she was the class artist.

She married her sweetheart, Rulon Dean Kimber on April 3, 1944 in Evanston, Wyoming. LaRene and Dean were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple. They lived for a short time in Logan, and then back to Bountiful where they raised a family of six girls. Her husband Dean passed away in February of 1964. Through her example she continued to raise her family with a strong work ethics and a caring attitude for others. She worked hard and was a wonderful homemaker. She was well known for her talent in hand sewing as well as a seamstress, spending many hours sewing for her girls. At a young age she learned to work hard on the family farm in Centerville. In later years she worked for Sperry Rand, CR England Trucking, JC Penny''s and at the DATC in Kaysville.

She served as an LDS missionary in Fresno, CA from 1982-1984. She loved working with children and was actively engaged in the serves of others. She served as a Primary President, Jr. Sunday School Coordinator and Relief Society President.

LaRene is survived by her six daughters, Kathlyne Stevenson, Nanette (Jeff) Orgill, Connie (Charlie) VanValkenburg, Rebecca (Brant) Montgomery, Pamela Anderson and Teresa (Randy) Nye; 20 grandchildren and 31 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by two brothers, Leland and Neslin Bangerter. She is preceded in death by her husband Dean; her parents, brothers Alma, Lawrence and Arnold, and sisters Thelma, Eva and Rhea.

Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Friday, November 19, 2010 at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where visitation will be held Thursday from 6-8 pm and Fri. 12:45a€"1:45pm prior to services. Interment Bountiful City Cemetery. In lieu of flowers the family requests a donation be made to the LDS Church Perpetual Education Fund.

The family wishes to express their sincere gratitude to the many friends, ward members, hospice staff and others who willingly and lovingly served her.
