Larry Ivan Anderson

Larry Ivan Anderson passed away on Wednesday, May 31, 2017. Larry’s heart couldn’t keep up with his active lifestyle!
He was born in Moroni, Utah to Ivan and Eria Anderson. He was the second born of three children and the only son. The family moved to Ogden and Larry graduated from Ogden High School. After graduation, he joined the navy to further his knowledge of aviation.
Larry was introduced to Leona LaRae Robinson through mutual friends on a blind date. They were married three months later on August 27, 1958 and moved to San Francisco, California for his civilian job as an air traffic controller at the San Francisco International Airport. They were sealed in the Logan Temple on August 1, 1966.
Larry and Leona settled in Sunset, Utah to raise their family. Larry worked as an air traffic controller for 34 years. Larry was one of the first controllers at the Ogden Airport Tower. He also worked for H.A.F.B. and finished his career at Salt Lake International Airport.
He enjoyed golfing, traveling, camping, and being with his family.
His eternal sweetheart passed away October 7, 2009. He is survived by their children: Debra (Evan) Fawcett, Blaine (Shelley), Louise (Dalan) Buckles, Bruce (Brenda); 12 grandchildren and 11 ½ great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, June 6, 2017 at 11 a.m. at the Sunset 5th Ward Meetinghouse, 2431 N. 250 W. The family will meet with friends Monday from 6-8 p.m. at Lindquist Roy Mortuary, 3333 W. 5600 S., and prior to the service at the meetinghouse from 9:30-10:30 a.m.
Interment, Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch, 1718 Combe Road, South Ogden.
