Larry K. Huntington passed away Friday, January 11, 2008 after a long battle with cancer.
He was born August 7, 1933 in Tooele, Utah the son of Kenneth M. and Florence Isgreen Huntington.
Larry graduated from Tooele High School in May of 1951 and then attended the old USAC in Logan for a year before enlisting in the US Navy during the Korean Conflict. He served in Korea with the 1st Marine Division as a Corpsman.
After service time, Larry returned to the University of Utah and completed three more years before going to work for 3M Company as a Field Representative traveling out of Billings, MT; Denver, CO; St. Louis, MO and finally Phoenix, AZ; where he met the love of his life, Norma Jean Smith. They were married October 27, 1961 and have had a wonderful life together. Since Norma Jean was also originally from Utah, they returned to be near family and friends. Larry worked in the pharmaceutical business for many years calling on hospitals in Utah and surrounding states.
In the mid-seventies, Larry and Norma started Huntington Instruments, a specialized Surgical Instrument Company, distributing instruments to doctors and hospitals in the Intermountain West. The company became quite successful and they made many friends that were truly cherished.
Larry loved camping and fishing with his family, particularly with his beloved son, Ryan. They enjoyed many great trips together. He also loved growing flowers and trees; building projects were also of great interest.
Larry is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Norma Jean; beloved son, Ryan (sweet wife, Marcie), precious daughter, Linzy Kay (Sean) Loveridge; grandchildren, Shasta Ann and Samuel Huntington and Tabatha Lynne, Nicholas Allen and Jacob Loveridge. Also much loved sister, Sally Lynn (John) Larsen.
