Larry Gene Krull
MESQUITE, Nev. - Larry Gene Krull, loving husband, father, brother and grandfather, passed away surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 7, 2009 following a short illness.
He was born in Sioux Falls, South Dakota on April 10, 1944, to William Hubert and Evelyn Krull.
Larry was commissioned in the Air Force ROTC Program at South Dakota State University and graduated with a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering in 1967. He served in the Vietnam War after graduation as part of the rapid area maintenance team responsible for repairing damaged aircraft.
He married Judy Ann Gudmundson on December 5, 1969 at the Hill Air Force Base Chapel.
Larry received his MBA in 1978 from New Mexico Highland University. He served faithfully in the U.S. Air Force active duty for 12 years and the U.S. Air Force Reserves for many years where he was awarded The Legion of Merit for outstanding service in February 1997. He retired as a Colonel that same year.
He worked as a Civil Service engineer until May of 1999. He continued his career working for Sobran until 2001 and finished his profession at Anteon, retiring in May of 2006.
Larry loved to spend time with his wife traveling to Mesquite, Nevada and Yuma, Arizona, fishing at Jackson Lake, Wyoming and golfing everywhere.
He loved his family and many friends dearly. Larry was a great person to be around and always brought happiness to others.
He is survived by his loving wife, Judy; his son, Tony (Tawnya) and six gradchildren, Melissa, Mitchele, Morgan, Michael, Miles, and Madeline. Also surviving are two brothers, Gary (Judy), Bruce (Pat) and one sister, Jolane (Paul) Natale.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be held Friday, July 10, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the Elm Lutheran Church, 575 23rd Street.
Friends may call at Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary, 3408 Washington Blvd., on Thursday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Friday at the church 12:45 to 1:45 p.m.
Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd.
