Larry Ernest Larios, 82, of Clinton, Utah, left this earth peacefully to return to his best friend and beloved wife of 27 years, Shellie Herzog Larios, on February 2, 2016.

Larry was born April 30, 1933 in Newport, Oregon to Ernest Estolano Larios and Frances Elizabeth Connell Larios. He graduated from Albany High School in 1952, then attended the University of Oregon where he played football and ran track for the Oregon Ducks. Larry served in the United States Air Force for 27 years and retired in 1980 as a Chief Master Sergeant in the Security Police. On June 28, 1980, he married Shellie Herzog in Great Falls, Montana. He graduated from Weber State University in 1986 with a Bachelor of Science in Law Enforcement. Larry spent another 15 years in civil service before retiring in 1996.

Larry was a founding member of The Air Force Security Police Association and The Wasatch Figure Skating Club and was an instrumental part in the formation of both of these organizations. He was a member of the Delta Lodge No. 128 Masonic Temple in Great Falls, Montana as well as The Benevolent and Protective Order of Elks, Lodge #0719. Larry supported many charitable organizations including the Veterans of Foreign Wars, the Wounded Warrior Project, the Security Police Association Scholarship Fund, the Huntsman Cancer Institute, the Yellowstone Foundation, and the Yellowstone Institute.

Larry is survived by his five children, Curtis (Nancy) Lindsey of Campbell, California, Ernest (Karen) Larios, of Las Vegas, Nevada, Lawrence (Teresa) Larios of Monmouth, Oregon, Marc Larios of Clinton, Utah, and Letitia (Matt) Larios Ahrensback of Clinton, Utah; his sisters, Letitia May Scherry of Sheridan, Wyoming and Loraine Frances Anne Warren of Tacoma, Washington; thirteen grandchildren; and many nephews, nieces, and cousins who knew and loved him well. He was preceded in death by his wife, Shellie Herzog Larios; his parents, Ernest and Frances Larios; his sister, Delores Schubert; and his former wife, Julia Headley Larios.

Funeral Services will be held on Friday, February 12, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Roy Mortuary, 3333 W. 5600 S. Friends may gather with the family on Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.

Interment Utah Veterans Memorial Park.
