Larry Gene Prine

Larry Gene Prine SYRACUSE - I left this world January 14, 2013. I was born March 7, 1943 in Council Bluffs Iowa to Wilber Prine and Ida Mae Van Beck Prine. After three unsuccessful marriages and five children I met and married Doranna Child. We were married in Evanston Wyoming June 20, 1977. After moving around the country in construction we settled in Syracuse. There I followed my hobby working on automobiles. In 1996 I suffered a stroke and fifteen years later in 2011 I had a heart attack, the two combined slowed me down considerably. Up until then Doranna and I enjoyed hunting, camping, boating, fishing and travel. I did a great deal of bar hopping, carousing, and just plain being an obstinate and cantankerous SOB. And now here I am. My heart has given out. I am survived by my wife of thirty five years who stayed with me and cared for me. Two sons David of Iowa, Rhett of Murray; three daughters, Denise of Florida, Lorrie of N. Ogden; Melissa of Murray; and 10 grandchildren, two sisters, Joann and Kathy, of IA; and three brothers, Mike Jacobson of Farr West; Ward and Scott of IA. As per my request I am to be cremated. There will be no memorial service Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.
