Elsie LaRue Armstrong 1929-2013

Elsie LaRue Leyland Armstrong, 84, passed away Friday, November 8, 2013 in Bountiful, Utah.

She was born October 7, 1929 in Kaysville, Utah the daughter of Royce G. and Vera May Bloxham Leyland. Married Lloyd LeGrand Armstrong June 30, 1946 in Pocatello, Idaho and later sealed June 1, 1970 in the Salt Lake Temple.

LaRue had lived in Idaho, California, Arizona and the past 12 years in Utah. When living in Idaho she worked as a bookkeeper and then later as a travel guide while living in California. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings including Relief Society, Primary, Stake MIA and 20 years as a chorister. She was a member of the North Canyon 3rd Ward. She had a beautiful alto singing voice and sang in several quartets and musical groups.

She is survived by her daughter Terrie L. Armstrong (Roland Harrop); five grandchildren Trevor Strong (Melany), Quin Strong (Kirsten), Gavin Strong (Sherri), Natalie Jensen (Chris), Danelle Strong (Travis); 15 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren and a sister BarDee Miller (Ron). Preceded in death by her husband Lloyd and sister Marva Dene Smith.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am, Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Lindquist''s Bountiful Mortuary, 727 N. 400 E. where friends may visit family from 10-10:45 am prior to services. Interment Downey, Idaho.
