LaRue Ockey Wall Frenette

LARUE OCKEY WALL FRENETTE passed away on October 6, 2021 at the age of 89.

LaRue was born on July 22, 1932, to Clarence James and Nellie Gee Ockey in Moroni, Utah.  She was an only child and spent her younger years in Nephi, UT.  The family later moved to Provo Utah where she attended and graduated from Provo High School. LaRue continued her studies at Brigham Young University and graduated Magna Cum Laude in Elementary Education.

LaRue married Cecil Bonnie Wall in 1954, and they moved to the Tacoma Washington area while Cecil served in the Army. The couple returned to the Salt Lake City area, and found their ideal neighborhood filled with good friends in Bountiful, UT.  They had two children, Dallin Brent Wall, and Wendy Wall (Buckner).  In 1971 Cecil passed away, and in 1987 LaRue married Oliver Edward Frenette. Oliver has been a wonderful husband, and she loved him dearly.  The two of them have been able to blend two families together into one big family.

LaRue was a lifelong faithful member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, and served in multiple church capacities, including as a temple worker at the Bountiful Utah temple. LaRue enjoyed games and sports, especially tennis, played the violin with enthusiasm, and had a beautiful singing voice. She excelled at solving crossword puzzles, loved to read mysteries, and enjoyed watching westerns, romantic comedies, and war movies. LaRue was a skilled secretary and held several secretarial positions over the years.  More than anything else, she loved her family, the Frenette family, and the LDS church.

She is survived by husband Oliver, son Dallin, daughter Wendy (Buckner), stepchildren Carla (Park), Karen (Williams), Colleen (Parkin), and Brian Frenette, their spouses, and 18 grandchildren and 44 great-grandchildren.  LaRue will be most remembered as a fun-loving, generous lady who lived a truly Christ like life and touched the lives of everyone she met.

Funeral services will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday, October 12, 2021 at the Bountiful Tabernacle, 55 S. Main where friends may visit family from 9:30-10:30 am prior to services.  Interment Wasatch Lawn Cemetery.  Services entrusted to Lindquist's Bountiful Mortuary.
