Laura Elizabeth Daley Cherry

Laura Elizabeth Cherry passed away in Vernal, Utah on February 7, 2020 in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was in her 96th year.
Laura was born in Ogden, Utah on May 16, 1924 to Ross Sherman Daley and Laura Naomi Perry.
She married Francis Roy Cherry on October 10, 1941 in Ogden, Utah. They were sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on November 19, 1943. They raised their family in Ogden, Price, and Sigurd, Utah. After retiring they moved to Cedar City, Utah. They had been married for 64 years when Roy passed away November 10, 2005. She later lived in St. George and Vernal, Utah with her son and daughter-in-law, Stephen and Sharlene Cherry.
Laura was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in many callings through the years.
Laura was expert at quilting, crocheting, and sewing. She also loved gardening, house plants, and reading. Watching her great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren has brought her joy in her last years.
Laura is survived for her four children, Lola Atwood, Francis Roy (Patricia) Cherry, Jr., Stephen James (Sharlene) Cherry, and LauraLee (Glen, deceased) Detton; 20 grandchildren, 46 great-grandchildren, and 8 great-great grandchildren; and her sister, Sherma Naomi Poulsen. She was preceded in death by her husband, Francis Roy Cherry; her parents; and her brother, Keith Ross Daley.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 11 a.m. at the Sullivan Hollow 2nd Ward, 976 33rd Street, Ogden, Utah. Friends may visit with family on 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the church. Interment, Lindquist’s Washington Heights Memorial Park, 4500 Washington Blvd. Services entrusted to Lindquist’s Ogden Mortuary.
