Laura Chase Norris

Laura Chase Norris of Layton Utah passed away on the evening of November 22, 2017 from natural causes. She was greeted in passing by her parents, Irel and Louise Chase, her husband Paul Hamilton Norris and by her daughter and best friend, Jeanette Lawrence.  She was also preceded in death by her brothers Lynn (Kathryn) Chase and Barton (Rosemary) Chase.

Laura is survived by her siblings Randal (Deborah) Chase, Mary Lou (Wayne) Olsen, her son, David Paul Norris and her three grandchildren, Brooke (Noah) Tramposh, Colbe Cunningham and Justine Norris. Laura was very excited to be a great grandmother and is also survived by her four great grandchildren, although her time with them was short, she did cherish every moment.

Laura enjoyed gardening and was a flower enthusiast. She was also an animal lover and spent much of her time outdoors with her dogs. Laura loved movies and over the years she acquired an impressive movie collection.  She liked spending her time with close friends and family in her home of more than 40 years.

Laura was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was very proud to have been endowed in the temple.  She was sealed to her husband Paul Hamilton Norris in the Salt Lake Temple on October 24, 1991.

Laura was selfless and spent her life caring for others. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, a loving sister and a true friend.  Laura was loved by so many for her contagious smile, kind nature and loving heart.  In her passing we have learned that the good memories slowly fade away because they are too precious to just forget. A promise was made by her family to "remember for you", and so she will be missed but her memory will live on through all of us.

Funeral services will be held Friday, December 1, 2017 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 No. Fairfield Road.  Friends may visit family Friday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary.  Interment, Clearfield City Cemetery.
