Laura Meldrum Tunbridge passed away on November 26, 2014 at the age of 88.
She was born March 16, 1926 in Park City, UT to Ralph and Susanna Gurr Meldrum. She married Ronald A. Tunbridge November 18, 1946. They later divorced.
She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She worked at Cluff’s Farm Store in Provo, UT, the Internal Revenue Service and at Hill Air Force Base where she retired in 1989.
Laura enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, tole paints and visiting with family and friends. She was awarded the “Citizen of the Month Award” by Clearfield City and was known in her neighborhood as the “Cookie Lady.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, brothers Jack Meldrum, David Meldrum, sister Helen Casey, daughter Karen Tunbridge, son Fred L. Tunbridge, two grand-children and three great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her children: Evelyn Tunbridge, Hazel (Leonard) Patcyk, Jay W. Tunbridge, Rex L. (Tamra Holmes) Tunbridge, ten grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 1, 2014 at 11 a.m. at Lindquist’s Layton Mortuary, 1867 N. Fairfield Road. Friends may visit with family on Sunday from 6 to 8 p.m. and Monday from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. at the mortuary. Interment, Kaysville City Cemetery.
